TRAP

by Mega Ran

Jeremy Sawdon Mega Ran always blends clever wordplay, with honest information. This time the album itself is part of the composition. Ran's commanding flow over beats, has always distracted from the fact you're being educated. The heavy beats and serious subjects give nice guy Random an imposing sound. The King's Theme is my favorite, as it reminds me of youth. Grew up with bad dudes, and thug wannabes. Always tried to be a voice of reason, provided insight, hoping some would be guided to a better path. I think this album does the same. Great work! Favorite track: TRAP (The King's Theme).
Donnie Blaq

Donnie Blaq never thought Nerdcore and Trap Music would be a cool combo. And MegaRan Proves it can work. My favorite EP of his Work. By FAR. Favorite track: TRAP (The King's Theme).

Kyle An original album from Mega Ran? I thought he just did game raps?! For real though, awesome little EP with some great beats and a more serious vibe that allows Ran to tell some interesting stories, well worth a listen. Favorite track: TRAP (The King's Theme).

Way back before anyone called me mega, I was Copping bargain bin cartridges playin my Sega I used to hit up the corner bodega, My local spot was run by the ortegas We only knew em as mami and papi And if they Spot me doing wrong they would threaten to pop me I got the, same thing every day, Cherry hug, now and laters, and a big bag of lays, They'd always put my purchase in a black bag, I liked that cuz nobody knew what I had We'd spend a couple quarters on bad dudes, once at school, straight the bathroom, Sell the candy and gum that I just bought, Double my profits never having to export Needed the sugar rush That bad Fist full of cash stuffed in my black bag V2 My best friend and I were totally compatible, Love GIJoes, Comic books even had a flow Used to tell me i would go international, And i would say he was just being irrational He could probably mop up the floor wit me So I assured him he'd surely work security He was Rasheed, I was Raheem, I was pigeon toed, he was knock kneed We hit the bodega for a hoagie, After playing Football wit a few of the homies Sheed said u hungry? get whatever you want G then he Pulled out a pocket full of 20's I didn't wanna ask where he got it, And he knew he couldn't leave that kinda money in his pocket, We was like 11, we ain't have wallets So he took my bag and put the money inside it I was silent I couldn't even act mad Walking home He stopped off at the Crack pad Nobody else knew what that cat had All under the disguise of the black bag V3 Time went on me and Sheed got distant, We were so alike, but the things got different I never told my mom why we drifted, But she musta sniffed it, she was just gifted She said they fear you cuz they don't understand you, And you destined to do things that they can't do Not a bad thing your better in the long run, And you gone see that I'm right before its all done, I still hit the bodega on the reg, Long roll, cheese, turkey bacon and some eggs a new family bought the store changed the name But We still call em mami and papi like its the same Went away to college in 95, Then I got a call that somebody died, Got shot right in front of the spot, Panicked after Serving an undercover cop They say he pulled out, but no one could prove it, Cop shot em dead because he wouldn't stop moving They Thought he was Good for nothin And guess what the coroner zipped em up in, Black Bags...

Ben Franklin said absence sharpens love, Musta been my town that cat was talkin of, I used to tell my girl she was too far to visit, She said if you wanted to do it, you woulda did it, And she was brilliant, that there sealed it, problem was she too much to deal wit The only place I see you is my dreams, so when they sleep on me I know just what it means, This is a sad overview How a dude tour the world and come back as a local dude Hard to be humble and take the scraps they throw to u That's why I don't speak up unless I'm spoken to, Put the work in first and pray they notice you Save your breath for the takes in the Vocal booth They might not call Ran the coldest dude, But after I hit the stage they all, know the truth Man you know I love my town, So it kills me when I'm not around, But I got to keep movin Cuz my goal is improving Alfred: To be in this rap game lyriqs was chosen/ Doing the damn thing i swear im focused/ Im from new orleans my people i hope they all know it/ But now i gotta see the world like the atlantic ocean/ Or the pacific both coasts i gotta visit/ I live my city no doubt but dog im on a mission/ Gotta vision of being the hottest rapper out/ Nothing but quotables coming outta this rappers mouth/ Packed crowds every town every venue/ For everyone to know my name no matter what u into/ To do that i gotta dip like queso/ But no matter the place on the map i may go/ I hold my city down ill make my city proud/ Got em on my back make em smile never frown/ With all respect new orleans i gotta go/ And if u really need to find me ill be some where on the road/ CHORUS Rep my town though I'm hardly home, Tryna run my city like I'm smarty jones And I play my part-- display my art-- Wayne and Garth --we gone party on My short term goal-- tear it up, Be a local legend-- don't care enough And my long term goal looks hopeless-- when I approach it, I just move the Carrot up Faced with the task of holding down 2 cities, So different neither one knows what to do wit me, So I'm just in the wind like the sheet of paper In American Beauty, until I meet my maker, I'm Kevin spacey, flirting wit a younger chick, Who don't know my government I'm gluttonous for punishment She put a price on my head I told em double it, Been through it all in my city I'm Still I'm love wit it

Always, Always ALWAYS expect the unexpected by an guy named Random. After being home from tour for 2 weeks, the artist also known as Mega Ran is releasing an EP entitled "TRAP." The title has a two-fold meaning: It's an ode to the thumping 808 bass-heavy production style that has been made famous by southern hip-hop in the last decade, and is also an acronym for "Television and Radio Are Poison."

The 6-track EP combines radio-ready beats and hooks with hard hitting social commentary as only Ran can provide, with production by Mr.ThrowedonTheTrack, Checkin' Trapps and Gutta Boiy.
